Europair participates in the inaugural flight of Air Europa’s new Boeing 787-9

On February 26th, we had the pleasure of participating in the inaugural flight of Air Europa’s new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner between Madrid and Palma de Mallorca. This latest generation aircraft is one of the most modern in the world and impresses by its efficiency and technological avant-garde, being the first of its kind in Spain.

Air Europa thus initiates the second phase of the renewal of its long-haul that is expected to culminate in 2022, after the progressive incorporation of another fifteen Boeing 787-9.

The aircraft is the second member of the Dreamliner family and, like the Boeing 787-8, combines the most comfortable interior with an exceptional environmental performance by reducing by 20% both fuel consumption and emissions, and by 60% the acoustic impact. The new Dreamliner is slightly longer (63 meters) and wider (60 meters) than the Boeing 787-8.  It also has a greater load and passenger capacity. All its 333 seats are equipped with audio visual entertainment touch screen, and the 30 business class seats are fully reclinable.

The first Dreamliner 787-9 is named “JJ Hidalgo” after the president of Globalia, Juan José Hidalgo. As of March, it will operate the route to Buenos Aires on a regular basis along with the second Boeing 787-9.

These new aircraft will join the eight Boeing 787-8 that the airline uses for routes to Miami, Santo Domingo, Bogotá, Buenos Aires, Havana, Lima and Tel Aviv, and incorporating Sao Paulo in March. Air Europa has established itself as one of the airlines with the youngest, most efficient and most modern fleets in the sector.

Europair and Air Europa have been collaborating for years in organizing tailor-made charter flights and we are very proud to have an aircraft of such magnificent characteristics here in Spain.

Our congratulations to our friends from Air Europa and we are convinced that this new Dreamliner will contribute to its position as a benchmark airline and a top choice for flights between America and Europe.
