Europair is celebrating a very important anniversary, we are turning 25!
When the first charter flight arranged by Europair took off in 1994, we could have never imagined that we would one day turn as old as “a quarter of a century”. At the time of our beginnings, charter brokers were a virtually unknown entity and the aviation sector was ripe with opportunity. Europair didn’t follow the tried-and-tested business model of plain and simple intermediation and truly focused on what has now become its core mission: to provide a top-notch service to its clients while working closely with airlines in their business development.
After 48,000 flying hours, 3,208,000 passengers carried to more than 200 destinations, much dedication, professionalism and enthusiasm, Europair has now become one of the most established charter brokers in Spain and Europe.
Our path to development has been filled with challenges, changes and pivotal moments in the world of aviation, such as the liberalization of the European airspace, the birth of low-cost airlines and the recent global economic downturn. How could we forget 9/11, the closure of the European airspace during the Icelandic volcano eruption, the disappearance of very relevant airlines and the birth of new actors in the aviation sector.
The organization of our charter flights has been as colourful and varied as our clients’ needs. We dealt with the transportation of thousands of passengers for massive events like the Europa League final in Bucharest in 2012, the World’s Youth Day in Krakow in 2016. In some other cases, we had to coordinate simultaneous departures of several aircraft from different cities for special occasions, like the canonization of Escrivá de Balaguer in 2002. At the other end of the spectrum, we have looked after the organization of several very exclusive private flights for VIP events like the Golden Foot Award in Montecarlo, the Cannes Film Festival or, more recently, for the 75th anniversary of D-Day.
Gerardo Manzano, Europair’s CEO, stated: “25 years represent an achievement that we should all be proud of. It has been a long journey, sometimes a bit bumpy, but we are still growing thanks to our clients, suppliers and the people that make up our team. Our vocation for customer service is our raison d’être, and we will push it one step further through the digitalization of all of our processes, to become even more efficient. Our foundation is and will always be quality, continuous improvement, innovation and technological innovation, so as to provide a personalized, differential and handcrafted service”.
Many things have changed between 1994 and 2019, including ourselves, but we will always stick to the core values that make up Europair.
